Walsh, Nealey invite residents to join telephone town hall
Now back in Olympia for a 60-day legislative session, Reps. Maureen Walsh and Terry Nealey are seeking feedback from the people they represent in Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla and Columbia counties. They will host a live telephone town hall on Monday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions from citizens who join the hour-long call.
“I always appreciate hearing from constituents, and this venue is a perfect opportunity to interact with many residents while we’re in Olympia,” said Walsh, R-Walla Walla. “I look forward to hearing what people have to say and answering their questions.”
People can join the event by calling toll-free (800) 213-8596, and asking questions by pressing star (*) on their phones. Callers will also have the option to vote during the call’s live-polling over the phone. Members of the media are invited to listen in as well.
“We’re going to be making some very important decisions on issues affecting the state and the 16th Legislative District. So it is really important to hear from the folks back home,” said Nealey, R-Dayton. “This telephone town hall offers citizens a convenient way to talk with us and provide their viewpoints from the comfort of their homes.”
The 2014 session is scheduled to adjourn March 13.
